The outset....the first sisterhood

The Holy Spirit grants everything, abounds in prophecies, perfects priests, illiterate were taught wisdom,the whole ordinance of the church is composed of it......

.......As soon as the ordination of the Very Reverend Bishop Athanasios Akunda was completed, ordained by His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros B', the tongue moved naturally,spontaneously and with no previous relevant thought whispering the first wish and prayer and with the mind rising and the heart yearning for the first request and prayer of the new priest, Bishop Athanasios of the new metropolis of Kisoumou, towards the Great Archpriest and Chief Shepherd, towards the surveyor of our souls and the good shepherd who committed His soul in favour of the sheep ; and the lips of a now high priest start offering to Christ into tears and devoutness the first request for the church, for the metropolis and his province, with a risen up heart and a bowed head and bent knees in spiritual exaltation since the spiritual ascension and resurrection comes through immersion and humility.........

O,Lord!!!!!!!grace me to offer You a Monastery, to be established a Monastery in the country,  in which there is not one, since no metropolitan or spiritual work can be fruitful without spiritual and monastic life.......

All the arranged for the ordination were continued........

"A x i os !!!!!!!He is worthy" shouted the crowds in rhythm in the ordinary devout way in this co-liturgy between heaven and earth, Whites and Coloureds,Kenyans and Greeks,Egyptians and Tanzanians,South Africans and Americans,......

The ordination finished and everyone went back to their place,to their country and to their deaconship and the new Bishop, feeling the importance of his deaconship but with good hopes,goes back to his place as a first visit to his province which the Chief Shepherd Christ entrusts to him through the Patriarch of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and all Africa.

He starts the organisation and arrangement for the newly-established diocese ,according to the patriarchal volume and encyclical ,entitled....Diocese of Kisoumou and West Kenya.....and the vision and prayer of the newly-ordained bishop Athanasios comes into being ,honouring the great Patriarch, saint Athanasius the Great......

With the blessing of our Patriarch Theodoros, part of the already existing sisterhood in the holy Metropolis of Mwanza,Tanzania is transferred and three of the six sisters arrive in the metropolis on the 5th of July ,the day when our church honours the memory of saint Athanasius the Athonite ,the founder of the monastic state of the Holy Mount Athos .

sister Emelia,

and the novice Natalia,who was ordained on the 14th of August and given the name...sister Fevronia...,contribute to our effort and also the spiritual children from Crete, Nikolaos Eftihiadis and his wife Eleni Tzorbatzi,  give their help and support as volunteers offering their precious services and knowledge ,and so the spiritual sailing,the foundation, the first cell of the first monastery in the country and metropolis initiates. 

Hence,surrounded with the canons of the fathers, the blessing of the holy missionaries, who were transferred in the triumphant church,and with the blessing of our Patriarch and the Very Reverend Bishop, we commence our deaconship, which the Lord appointed to us in his church, being humble workers of the Gospel, cooperators and collaborators of the Bishop for glory to God , for the salvation of the faithful and for the benefit of the church and we ask for your prayers so that we can prove to be if not worthy ,at least, irreproachable workers of the Lord.....
